Urinary Incontinence [UI] is an unwanted loss of urine, often called loss of bladder control.
UI is NOT a natural part of aging. It is a symptom, not a disease. It can happen at any age,
and can be caused by many physical conditions. Many causes of incontinence are temporary and
can be managed with simple treatment.
Incontinence can also be caused by other conditions that are not temporary such as:
- Weakness of the muscles that hold the bladder in place
- Weakness of the bladder itself
- Weakness of the urethral sphincter muscles
- Overactive bladder muscles
- Immobility [not being able to move around]
- In almost every case, these conditions can be treated
Sierra Therapy Services offer a comprehensive program for urinary incontinence, which includes electrical & electromagnetic stimulation, biofeedback, exercise, and education. We address urge, stress and mixed incontinence, frequency, bladder irritants, fluid intake and output, voiding diaries for monitoring and training, posture and exercises.
Our success rate with treating UI is very high!
Medicare and other insurance companies pay for physical & occupational therapy services.
The Questionnaire below will help you, your doctor and therapist evaluate your bladder health.
